01) Training
This is fairly linear until you get out into the open so you won't get lost,
you'll find it very intuitive where you have to go. This section is just for
acclimating you to the controls. You'll find out how to crouch, crawl, climb
ladders, walk around, go up stairs, and erm... you'll get a gun too.
After the opening cinematic and when you get control of Jack for the first
time go forward through the sewer and head for the stairs in the southeast.
Follow the corridor until you get to a door that has a hole in it. Crouch and
edge your way through it. In the next room you'll see a hole in the wall that
leads to a new room, jump up through it and enter the room.
When you jump through you'll have to move to the right and crawl under a
fallen support beam. Now look to the right and go up the ladder. Run through
the room ahead and you will get a cutscene with Crow and some guard. When the
scene resumes move to the wall on the left side of the room and head into the
water, make sure you are crouched or else you run a good chance of being
spotted. Swim through the water and enter the room on the other side.
In this room there will be another cutscene and you will meet Doyle for the
first time. When the scen is over grab the pistol on the table, the ammo on
the shelves, the grenade on the table by the stairs, and the body armor on the
crate by the door that leads to the next room. You can also play around with
the physics system in the game if you like by tipping over the shelves and
rolling the barrels down the stairs.
Now head out the other door and you will be outside for the first time.
Immediately turn to the left and follow as close as possible to the embankment
that marks the edge of the level. Move slowly, don't run since that will get
you spotted right away. Anyways, move towards the first hut and enter it to
find some pistol ammo. Check to make sure that you have a full clip of ammo
and if you don't reload your pistol.
Outside the hut you will probably hear some excitement since one of the
mercenaries has probbaly spotted you by now. Go back towards the door you
came in and lean out. Usually there are three mercenaries immediately visible
from here so shoot all three of them as they approach and then carefully check
around to see if you can take out any more before moving away from your cover.
For kicks you can shoot the yellow container on the dock and blow it up.
If you search all the rest of the huts there will be one more mercenary (he'll
be in or close to the hut by the dock) and you'll also find more pistol ammo
and an M4 assault rifle. Run around and pick up all the ammo dropped by your
foes and then head up to the hut on top of the hill.
Grab the binoculars and whip them out. Scan enemy base and the whole island
that you can see out to other side of the hut and spot the two enemie sin the
guard towers. Unequip your binoculars and lie down with your M4 out.
Carefully take aim and release a few bursts to take out the guards in the two
towers. You should fire three bullets maximum (in one burst) because at this
distance the recoil makes you doubly innaccurate.
When the two guards have been taken down cross the water and go up the little
incline. Go up to the tower that is to the right side of the enemy base.
Climb up and take out your binoculars. Scan the enemy base for the five
mercenaries that should be left inside. For added foresight you can scan the
beaches ahead and look for places where you will have to get past a few
bunches of mercenaries. Also, while you are up here you will see a helicopter
take off and fly around. Do not shoot at it. Just let it fly away over the
next hill.
Now climb back down and retrace back to where you came out of the water. Lie
down on the ground with your M4 and look for the enemy mercenaries in the base
here. Quickly find a group of two mercenaries and take them out with a burst
of well aimed fire. Now head into the base quickly and take out the three
enemies that are in the rough proximity of the center of the base (where the
vehicle is). Make sure that none of them hit the alarm buttons because if
they do you'll have to deal with about 5 more enemies and at the moment you
are shorthanded on ammo. You will want to avoid that.
When you have successfully eliminated all the enemies in the area head for the
hut that is at the base of the guard tower. Grab the keycard off of the table
and head for the hut that is labeled as "Armory", it is to the South of the
hut with the keycard. Find the gate and open it and you'll pick up one
grenade and a hundred or so rounds of M4 ammo. There is also an armor pickup
by the door. Grab it and you will have full armor. If you need some health
then you can pick some up in just about any of the buildings here.
Now head for the Buggy. Climb in and drive down the road. As you drive you
will see a mercenary standing on the road. Slow down and shoot him. Now go
over the next ridge past a save point and you will see a hut on a beach.
Ignore it for now and look for a HumVee that should be heading your way.
Shoot the gunner and the driver when you get an open shot and then climb into
the HumVee. Equip the rocket launcher and fire off a few shots at the hut and
at the mercenaries standing in front of it. Now drive to the hut and grab any
ammo that was dropped along with an armor pickup if you need it. Be aware
that there may be one more mercenary hiding in the trees to the side of the
hut.
Now climb back into the HumVee. Head along the road with your HumVee's turret
set to the missile launcher. When you see the HumVee atop the hill with some
mercenaries beside it blast it to itty bitty pieces with your rocket. Now
head over the next ridge that is around the corner and shoot the buggy that is
at the bottom of the hill. Stay atop the hill and look for a HumVee racing
along the beach. Take aim and fire at it. If you miss then just wait and
relaod, you will probably have hit close neough to it to knock the occupants
out of whack long enough to get in another clean shot.
When the HumVee has been destroyed then race along the beach quickly because
there is a boat offshore that is launching missiles right at your position.
Don't try to engage the boat because it will hit you before you can hit it.
Now keep pushing along the road. When you see a crashed airplane up ahead go
to the right of it. Shoot the two mercenaries on the top of the hill and
then drive your HumVee right over the edge and into the water.
Get away from it before you swim towards the carrier (it will blow up). Stay
undewater and swim to the hole in the left side of the ship. This will keep
you out of the enemy's view. When you enter the hole the level will end.

Far Cry
The Godfather The Game

V. 1.2
Well, hi all you guys out there!
This is the very first FAQ i write for a game, so I hope it can be useful and
of course understandable!
I'm not a native English speaker: I'm just an Italian university student who
has just started specialising in English: feel free to correct and criticise
this work by E-Mailing me... just do not complain pointlessly!
I've always been in love with gangster movies and games: I already can hear you
saying "of course, HE IS ITALIAN, he's a damn mobster himself"... well, that's
what really spoils Italy's reputation: Italian mob (aka "MAFIA") is a
plague, a plague that everyone must fight in order to see it disappear
once for all from this sick world:
it's very sad to be identified as a mobster when you travel abroad just
because you are Italian: looks like we are famoust just for Pizza and Mafia!
One last thing: I'm what many people would call a "gun nut": I love firearms,
I'm very damn fond of'em, I go weekly to the shooting range and I study the
subject on my own just for historical and scientific interest.
But I'd not call myself an expert: I'm just a fond.
You'll find some historical and technical notes here and a lot of critics about
the unrealness of this game's weapons: If you don't mind such things, just say
"whatever" and go on reading. ;)
I've divided this FAQ into sections, each can be quickly found by pressing
CTRL+F
and writing the code in brackets that you find in the index. Enjoy!
